Moose Ridge Woodland Chalet.

WELCOME!

To reach us you must head for the Town of Clearwater. It lies along Highway #5 (also called the Yellowhead Highway) approximately 1.5 hours drive north of Kamloops, or 3 hours drive south of Jasper. Kamloops is a 4.5 hour drive, or a 45 minute flight, from Vancouver.

As you enter Clearwater town limits watch for the life sized Bronze Moose Statue standing by the road. This marks the Wells Gray Park Information Centre (there is also a large sign!), and the start of Clearwater Valley road. Stop in at the Information Centre to learn more about the park, and the many activities available to you locally.

Remember to call us from here at 674-3271 to let us know you are on your way.

The Town of Clearwater is called the "Gateway to Wells Gray", and aptly so. It is from Clearwater that the only paved road into Wells Gray Park originates - Clearwater Valley road. This is a spectacular drive, skirting the edge of vast canyons carved over thousands of years by the turbulent waters of the Clearwater river, occasionally visible many hundreds of feet below.

At 10.5 km. you will pass Spahats Park Waterfall and Viewpoint. Both are impressive sights and well worth the short walk to view them.

We are located approximately 32 kilometres  along Wells Gray Park road, just 3 km before the Park gates.

Watch for the Moose Ridge sign on the right hand side of the road.

The road continues north some 45 km further along the Clearwater River corridor until it reaches Clearwater Lake. Here it ends at a boat launch from where you must travel by foot or boat into the vast unspoiled wilderness that is Wells Gray Park. Canoe rentals and motor boat lake tours are available.
